The project involves the demolition and reconstruction of an existing building, a former farmhouse, currently abandoned. The original structure consists of a single two-storey unit with an external staircase. The new building will be a rural residential property.
The new construction will have a single floor, with perimeter walls built with load-bearing masonry blocks, reinforced with vertical concrete structures linking the foundation and the roof beams. The exterior façade will be finished with reclaimed bricks from the demolition, laid in a rustic, exposed manner. The roof will be timber, visible throughout, with main beams supported by the concrete foundation, secondary beams, and a finish of planks and tiles.
The wooden windows will be treated and fitted with thermal glass and wooden shutters. External areas will feature stone paving, compacted earth, and smooth reclaimed tiles for walkways and connections between spaces. Green areas will be landscaped with stable grass and ornamental native trees.
Overall, the exterior finishes will reflect the architectural features of traditional local farmhouses, with a focus on using reclaimed materials from the original building. Although the house presents itself as a rural and domestic volume, harmonizing with the suburban character of its surroundings, it offers a distinctive and contemporary approach to both volumetric and spatial development.
