This project involves the renovation of a residential building located in the historic core of Brengaz, Valtournenche (AO). The intervention aims to enhance the building, which comprises three residential units and one storage area, while preserving the traditional Alpine architectural character of the area. The plan entails the complete demolition of the existing structure, including the adjacent storage unit, and its reconstruction with a volume increase limited to 35% under Regional Law 24/2009. The new building will feature four units, distributed across four levels, and will incorporate modern energy efficiency and sustainability standards (Class Bsa).

The design harmoniously integrates into the sloping terrain, blending traditional materials, such as lime-rendered stone for the base and dark wood cladding for the upper structure, with contemporary functionality. Large south-facing balconies and panoramic windows connect the interior to the natural surroundings. The pitched roof, finished with stone tiles (lose), pays homage to the region’s architectural heritage. Vertical access is ensured by a staircase and lift, providing independent access to each unit.

The project reflects a sustainable reinterpretation of Alpine vernacular architecture.
